Max Thomas is an elite Clinical Sleep Scientist holding a rare dual-Master of Science background, positioning him as a leading senior authority in his field. He holds an MSc in Clinical Science (Respiratory & Sleep Medicine) alongside an MSc in Human & Applied Physiology, combining advanced medical sleep diagnostics with an elite understanding of whole-body performance. As an integral member of the TwentyOne Dental Executive Sleep & Airway service, Max brings extensive senior experience assessing patients who experience snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea, and complex sleep-related breathing concerns.

His deep expertise spans respiratory physiology, sleep diagnostics, and human performance. Alongside his role at TwentyOne Dental, Max serves as the Clinical Site Director for a leading regional respiratory physiology and sleep diagnostic service. Throughout his career, he has functioned as an elite clinical consultant and researcher, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, academic institutions, and Premier League football clubs to optimize sleep and improve patient outcomes through accurate assessment, evidence-based practice, and collaborative care.

As part of TwentyOne Dental’s Dental Sleep Medicine Service, Max works alongside our experienced private clinical team. Patients are assessed privately by TwentyOne Dental; where clinically appropriate, Max undertakes home sleep studies, interprets the results, and provides diagnostic reporting to help guide the most appropriate pathway for each patient.

A Collaborative Approach to Better Sleep

Max believes improving sleep is about far more than treating a symptom. It is about understanding the individual, identifying underlying causes where possible, and providing personalised, evidence-based recommendations that support better sleep, better health, and a better quality of life. He works closely with the TwentyOne Dental team so that every recommendation reflects the latest evidence and the patient’s individual needs.
